THUA SAI HOME FOR DISABLED CHILDREN

Founded in the year 2000 by Sister Le Thi Hoe, this loving home rests in the tranquil country setting behind the Hoa Yen Catholic Church, south of Nha Trang. Most of the 30 children being cared for here were born with cerebral palsy or severe learning disabilities, and they live year round at this home. There are also several deaf children being cared for and educated by the nuns here. While not specifically an orphanage, there are several orphans living here, as well as several children from impoverished homes who are cared for during the week.

This loving home is run by the nuns of Thua Sai, and is not owned or operated by Lovingkindness Vietnam.  They rely entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Donations through our website go to general upkeep and monthly expenses, plus toys and activities to improve the lives of the children.

To donate to this cause, click the Donate button, which can be found on any page of this site in the top right. From the PayPal form, include a comment to indicate that you wish the donation to go to Thua Sai. You can also send us an email at ahren@lovingkindnessvietnam.org.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

The easiest route is to take D Tran Phu south, and follow the signs to Diamond Bay Resort. After crossing the Binh Tan Bridge, veer right, and stay on the main road. You’ll pass the Diamond Bay Resort and Wonderpark and after topping a lovely cape you’ll see the endless stretch of white sand on Cam Ranh’s peninsula, with a cluster of tin roofed cafés at Bai Dai Beach. Keep heading on the road towards the airport and you’ll eventually see a large sign for “Cam Hai Dong” pointing right. This takes you to a bridge connecting the mainland with the peninsula. There is a major road being finished, though you might have a slight detour through some mango orchards. Stay on the road and it will link up with Highway 1A. Turn left, and as you enter the small town of Cam Duc In Cam Phuc Bac you’ll see a blue sign on the right for “Giao Xu Hoa Yen”. Behind the church in a separate compound is the home for children.
