In early October 2020 we had a fun visit with the children at the Thua Sai Home for Disabled Children. We had reached out to the caretakers to learn of their most pressing needs and organized a visit. Our team bought everything at local markets, loaded up a van, and drove south to Cam Ranh.

Upon our arrival, the children met us outside and were excellent helpers bringing all the essential supplies into the common room. We brought bags of rice, dried shrimp, packages of milk, boxes of noodles, bottles of soy sauce, many blankets, toiletries, and laundry supplies.

It’s the time of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam, which has some lovely traditions specifically for children. We wanted the amazing children at Thua Sai to enjoy this fun holiday, so handed out large lanterns to decorate the home, moon cakes, and bags of traditional treats. A fun party! Afterwards, our team spent time with the children and helped with lunch.

This holiday visit was made possible through the kindness of a family in the USA. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE THUA SAI HOME FOR DISABLED CHILDREN

Located in a peaceful country setting in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang, Thua Sai offers a home and school for children with neurological disorders whose parents cannot afford the specialized care their children require. The nuns and caretakers teach the children in classrooms on the grounds, and it is a loving home to these wonderful children.
