In January 2024 we had a Lunar New Year party at the Thua Sai Home for Disabled Children. Tet is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam, and we wanted to do something special for these wonderful children. We arranged everything with the caretakers, and our team of volunteers loaded up a van with provisions and made the drive out to the home.

When we arrived, the children were excellent helpers, and carried everything to the main courtyard. For Tet, the children got new clothes to wear to welcome the Year of the Dragon, plus red envelopes of lucky money. Each child also got a care package for their families, that included bags of rice, bottles of fish sauce, bottles of soy sauce, cola, and traditional Tet treats and sweets.

We finished the day with popsicles for everyone. It was a lovely visit!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from of a family in the USA and a gift from an anonymous donor. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE THUA SAI HOME FOR DISABLED CHILDREN

Located in a peaceful country setting in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang, Thua Sai offers a home and school for children with neurological disorders whose parents cannot afford the specialized care their children require. The nuns and caretakers teach the children in classrooms on the grounds, and it is a loving home to these wonderful children.
