DAI AN & SUNFLOWER ORPHANAGES
Overseen by the Society of the Devine Word, these two orphanages are run by priests and nuns of St. Joseph’s parish in Nha Trang, , and is not owned or operated by Lovingkindness Vietnam. They first began taking in orphans in 1993. The Dai An Orphanage is located in Cam Ranh district, south of Nha Trang, and cares for 28 children from newborns to 10 years of age in a tranquil countryside locale. Once a child reaches middle school age, they are moved to the Sunflower Orphanage in Nha Trang, to attend better public schools. The Sunflower Orphanage is in the heart of Nha Trang, and has separate locations for middle school and high school students. Sunflower currently cares for about 35 orphans aged 10 to 18. Sunflower also has a history of taking in street children and youths from troubled homes.
