In celebration of Tet, the Lunar New Year in Vietnam, we made four visits on February 3, 2013.
Our last stop of the day was to the Mai Am Anh Dao Orphanage, in distant Ninh Hoa. So far from Nha Trang, the orphans at Anh Dao get fewer visitors than other places we assist. For this special occasion, previous donor Nicole McEvoy of Australia made another generous donation to the orphans of Vietnam. Nicole works at Cricklewood Child Care Centre and Kindergarten, and had previously visited Anh Dao with a group of friends. She continues to show compassion and kindness long after returning home.
When our group arrived at the orphanage, the children all came out to greet them and help unload the bus. After coordinating with Sister An Son, they brought rice, noodles, seasoning, and eggs. To celebrate the New Year, there was also sticky rice cakes and lots of traditional sweets. The children then honored our team with a heartwarming dragon dance performance that had everyone smiling from ear to ear.
It was a wonderful visit, and we thank Nicole once again for her loving kindness.
