This July, our team had the absolute joy of visiting the wonderful children and caregivers at the Anh Dao Orphanage in Ninh Hoa.
Before making the journey north, we worked closely with the head nun to put together a thoughtful list of the orphanage’s most urgent needs for the month. Once our van was packed to the brim, we hit the road!
When we pulled into the driveway, we were greeted by bright smiles and eager hands. The older children rushed out to welcome us and pitched in right away, helping unload the supplies and stacking them neatly in the main common room.
Thanks to our amazing supporters, we were able to deliver a substantial shipment of essential supplies this month, including:
- Pantry Staples: 25-kilo bags of rice, packages of noodles, cooking oil, sugar, seasonings, and racks of eggs.
- Fresh & Plant-Based Foods: A variety of mushrooms, tofu, vegan meat pies, vegan pork, and fresh meats.
- Baby & Child Essentials: Infant formula, milk, and diapers.
- Hygiene Supplies: Shampoo, body wash, and laundry detergent.
After unloading, our team took a tour of the facilities and spent quality time playing and catching up with the kids. To top off a fantastic visit, we brought along delicious takeout stew from a local restaurant. Everyone gathered together on the floor to enjoy a warm, wholesome lunch and plenty of laughs.
It was truly a memorable day filled with community and joy. About the Anh Dao Orphanage
Established in 2004 by Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, the Anh Dao Orphanage is a safe haven for a large group of children in need. Located in Ninh Hoa, just 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang, this heartfelt home offers a structured and nurturing atmosphere where joy and kindness flourish. Visitors are always struck by the cheerful spirits of the children and the genuine delight of spending time talking, playing, and simply being present with them.
To support the children’s nourishment and help offset monthly expenses, Sister An Son cultivates a modest farm behind the orphanage, near the girls’ living quarters. The farm yields fresh vegetables that are served in daily meals, and any surplus is sold to contribute to the home’s upkeep. It’s a beautiful cycle of care, sustainability, and love in action.
