In late January 2019 we visited the Khanh Son Charity Home & School with gifts for the lunar new year Tet. Located in the mountainous area to the southwest of Nha Trang, the Khanh Son Charity Home & School is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Some of the children stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The nuns provide a nurturing environment for all, ensure the children attend local public schools, and offer free daycare, kindergarten, and after school tutoring lessons.
Tet is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam. For many families it means new clothes to wear, which will usher in the new year with hope and prosperity. The children at Khanh Son come from very poor families, however, and cannot afford to buy new clothes. We wanted these wonderful children to feel the joy of Tet, so bought new outfits for everyone.
The children put on their new clothes and wore them proudly. It was lovely to see their faces light up knowing that they would have new clothes to wear on Tet.
These gifts were made possible by a kindhearted donation in memory of Mr. Nguyen Trong Hieu and Mrs. Nguyen Thi No.
Thank you!!!
