In September 2026, Lovingkindness Vietnam was thrilled to sponsor all education costs for the upcoming school term at the Kim Son Charity School, bringing immense joy and relief to the nuns who run it.
Education is central to our mission. After reaching out to the school’s team, the nuns provided a comprehensive breakdown of the term’s needs. Thanks to our community’s generosity, we fully funded:
- New school uniforms for every child
- Textbooks and essential school supplies
- Backpacks and sturdy footwear
- Miscellaneous educational expenses
To kick off the new academic year, the school hosted a celebratory welcome ceremony where the children received special gifts to take home to their families.
In addition to its school, the Kim Son Pagoda operates a free, open-access acupressure and acupuncture clinic staffed by licensed technicians for community members in need. Lovingkindness Vietnam was equally honored to contribute toward the clinic’s ongoing monthly operating costs.
This impactful project was made possible entirely through the generosity of our supporters Carolyn Chau-Kha and an anonymous donor. Thank you for making a lasting difference in these children’s lives!
ABOUT THE KIM SON CHARITY SCHOOL
This wonderful organization offers free primary school education at their charity school, plus free sewing skills training at their free vocational school for those who live in Vinh Luong ward, 15 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Founded at the Kim Son Pagoda in 1994 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu Dieu Phuc, it has long been a loving source of education for local youngsters. There are classrooms which grades 1 to 5 split in morning and afternoon shifts. All the children are from poor families, and the school exists through the kindness of donations. The Kim Son Pagoda also runs a free vocational program for those who want to learn tailoring skills, and has a free acupressure and acupuncture clinic for any who require treatment.
