In late January 2019 we visited the Dai An Orphanage for Tet. Dai An is a loving home to a large group of young orphans, located in Cam Ranh to the south of Nha Trang. The lunar new year, Tet, is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam. There are traditional treats and sweets, and yummy delicacies such as Banh Tet, which is a sticky rice cake wrapped in a banana leaf. We wanted the children to have a good feeling for Tet, so brought lots of surprises on our visit.

We coordinated with the caretakers at Dai An, who requested some essential supplies for the orphanage, including packages of noodles, soup mix, bottles of soy sauce, salt, and bags of beans. For the Tet celebration, we brought traditional snacks of dried coconut, apples, sunflower seeds, and other treats. We also brought lots of Banh Tet, which the children were most excited about.

This fun holiday visit was made possible through the kindhearted donations of Sharon Kelly and Stephen Milne.

Thank you!!!
