In early June 2019 we arranged for the Nhan Ai Orphanage to have a new poultry farm. Nhan Ai is a large orphanage in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The nuns at Nhan Ai provide a loving and nurturing home to over 120 orphans, from newborns to teenagers. The orphanage is located in a peaceful country setting, and it’s always a joy to visit.
We contacted the nuns to learn of their immediate needs and they told us of an ambitious plan they endeavored to undertake. They wanted to have a sustainable poultry farm in a lot behind the orphanage. The nuns and children would care for the birds, and the orphanage would maintain the farm as a source of nutrition for the children.
By early June they had set up their farm and brought in lots of chickens and a variety of ducks. The younger children were eager to watch the chickens and ducks mill about, and were helpful in feeding and tending them.
Also on this visit, we were happy to give the orphanage 4 new bicycles that the school-aged children would share when going to school.
