This September, our team traveled north to Ninh Hoa to spend a memorable day with the vibrant children and devoted caregivers at the Anh Dao Orphanage.
Ahead of our trip, we coordinated directly with the head nun to ensure we were addressing their most critical priorities. Thanks to your support, we loaded our van to the brim with essential supplies to help sustain the orphanage through the coming month.
Essential Supplies Delivered:
- Dining & Care: 6 new large lunch tables, baby formula, toiletries, cleaning products, and bathroom supplies.
- Nutritional Essentials: 50kg bags of rice, noodles, cooking oil, seasonings, fresh vegetables, meats, eggs, vegetarian foods, mushrooms, and snacks.
- Direct Financial Aid: Coverage for key monthly utility and operational bills.
A Mid-Autumn Celebration to Remember
Beyond providing basic necessities, we wanted to make this visit extra special for the children. We brought the festive magic of the Mid-Autumn Festival directly to them! The kids had a blast assembling their own traditional paper lanterns and enjoying sweet mooncakes and treats.
The highlight of the day was a surprise performance by a local lion dance troupe. With the thunder of drums and cymbals, the lions danced alongside the cheering children—filling the orphanage with unforgettable laughter and joy.
Thank You to Our Donors
Every smile, full belly, and moment of celebration from this visit was made possible by your generosity. Out thanks to Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes, Phillip Boudreau, Taylor Lieberman, and Thomas McCain. Thank you for continuing to bring stability, comfort, and joy to the children at Anh Dao!
About the Anh Dao Orphanage
Established in 2004 by Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, the Anh Dao Orphanage is a safe haven for a large group of children in need. Located in Ninh Hoa, just 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang, this heartfelt home offers a structured and nurturing atmosphere where joy and kindness flourish. Visitors are always struck by the cheerful spirits of the children and the genuine delight of spending time talking, playing, and simply being present with them. To support the children’s nourishment and help offset monthly expenses, Sister An Son cultivates a modest farm behind the orphanage, near the girls’ living quarters. The farm yields fresh vegetables that are served in daily meals, and any surplus is sold to contribute to the home’s upkeep. It’s a beautiful cycle of care, sustainability, and love in action.
