Education is at the heart of our mission. Every year as the new school session begins, we commit to covering the educational costs for the children at the causes we support—giving them the tools they need to build a brighter future.

During our September visit to Lac Thien Orphanage, our team worked closely with the resident nuns to identify the exact needs of every school-aged child. Thanks to your support, we were able to deliver:

  • Complete textbook sets for Grades 1–11
  • New school uniforms, backpacks, notebooks, supplies, and sandals
  • 4 new bicycles for the children to share on their daily commute
  • Direct assistance with annual school fees

A Day of Joy and Community

When our volunteers arrived, the children eagerly gathered in the courtyard to help unload supplies and proudly try on their new uniforms. In addition to school materials, we restocked essential kitchen and household provisions—including proteins, seasonings, toiletries, and everyday household supplies.

Before heading home, our volunteers passed out ice cream popsicles, and the courtyard filled with smiles as the children tested out their new bikes and enjoyed their treats together.

Thank You for Making This Possible

Moments like these are only possible because of the compassion and generosity of our donor community: Carolyn Chau-Kha, Daniel Cole, Koshu Takatsuji, Kateryna Lo, Linh Lam, Julia Lao, and several anonymous donors. Thank you for empowering these bright young minds as they step into a new school year!

ABOUT THE LAC THIEN ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2006, the Lac Thien Orphanage is part of the Phat Buu pagoda and lies north of Nha Trang in Ninh Hoa district. The orphanage’s origins are endearing. On a peaceful day, a baby was left at the gates of the pagoda. The nuns cared for him, and from that day on they have taken in orphan children from the area. The orphanage is run by the nuns of the pagoda and its head nun, Chon Minh. They rely entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. There are about 30 children at the orphanage, from newborns to teenagers, and Lac Thien also takes in elderly whose family cannot care for them.
