On December 13, 2014 we brought a donation to help construction costs at the Mai Am Nhan Ai Orphanage. Earlier this month we were contacted by Juli and Kyle of the USA who wished to bring aid to the orphans of Vietnam. Juli and Kyle made a strong commitment to help the children on an ongoing basis, and this is the first of many amazing gifts yet to come.
We contacted Nhan Ai about their needs, and Sister Huong told us of a new construction project that was underway. The orphanage has grown substantially over the past few years, and now cares for close to 150 children. With so many new orphans, one of the challenges has been a shortage of bathrooms. The nuns at the orphanage had already raised funds to build the framework for a new set of bathrooms for the children, but they had yet to raise enough money to complete the project with actual toilets.
Through Juli and Kyle’s contribution, the orphanage was able to purchase and install flush toilets in all of the remaining bathrooms. When we asked for pictures of the finished project the children couldn’t resist striking some poses. This donation had an immediate impact on the health and hygiene of the orphans. Thank you Juli and Kyle!
