In January of 2010 we were able to donate two overcast sewing machines to the Kim Son Charity School. The nuns at Kim Son continue to offer free tailoring classes to underprivileged men and women in the area north of Nha Trang. Their program enables young people to develop essential sewing skills that lead to real jobs at local tailoring shops and clothing factories. Their Vocational School has a total of 13 sewing machines, but was lacking overcast machines to teach the students specialty skills that would broaden their tailoring abilities. One overcast machine costs approximately $600, and we were happy to be able to donate two machines to their school.
