On April 22, 2012 we visited the Phu Quang Orphanage with food, gifts, and living necessities. This was the second charity trip we’d taken this month on behalf of Patrick Poppins of Australia. Since his visit to Nha Trang, Patrick has endeavored to help the needy children in the area, and we were happy to bring his generous gifts to the children being cared for at Phu Quang.

At just 28 km from Nha Trang, it didn’t take us long to arrive at this peaceful home in the countryside. We had talked to Sister Dieu An prior to our visit, and she mentioned some specific things they were in need of. Basic foodstuff is always needed, and we brought bags of rice, boxes of noodles, cooking oil, seasonings (mushrooms, etc.), milk, and drinks. They were also in need of replacement blankets and mosquito nets, which we were happy to buy for them. Sister Dieu An also said that she wished that she could give the children a special treat. We bought 30 small clay statues and paints, dolls for the girls, Doremon comic books, some blocks, and toys. Together with snacks and balloons it was a very fun morning!

Thank you, Patrick for your continued generosity, and for making a wonderful difference in these children’s lives.
