In June 2025 we helped fund an important project to support the gardens at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. Nhan Ai has a large durian orchard, and they periodically harvest durians to sell to local markets. The proceeds help support the orphanage’s many costs. We had recently reached out to the nuns and asked if there were any initiatives we could help with. They told us the durian orchard needed to have some water holes drilled to help with irrigation. We were happy to contribute! The workers brought out large boring machines that drilled straight down to the water table. They set up pumps which they can now sustainably irrigate their durian farm.

This project was funded by Steven Burger, Eamonn Gahan, and Jake Pritchett. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home. Several times a year, the nuns at the Nhan Ai Orphanage also arrange to assist poor communities in their area.
