On July 3, 2011 we helped a generous group from Norway bring gifts to the Mai Am Nhan Ai Orphanage.
Several months ago, Julie Helene of Norway contacted us and said that she and her friend Erik Nguyen would be visiting Nha Trang this summer. They were arranging a dinner party for friends to raise money to do charity while in Vietnam, and she asked if Lovingkindness Vietnam could help them coordinate their efforts.
After arriving in town, Julie and Erik spent two days shopping, and on Sunday, July 3 they drove out to Mai Am Nhan Ai. They brought a wonderful selection of games and books to the orphans, as well as rice and other essential foodstuffs. Sister Bao Quyen later told us that the children were overjoyed to receive such thoughtful gifts.
Thank you Julie and Erik! And thanks to all of the friends and family in Norway who contributed! You’ve made a difference in the lives of these children that will last long into the future.
