In December 2022 our team made a visit to the Anh Dao Orphanage with lots of food and general supplies. First, we contacted the head nun at the orphanage and made a detailed list of items the orphanage needed this month. Next, we went to local markets and bought everything on the list. Finally, we loaded up a van and made the drive north into Ninh Hoa.
When we arrived, the children were excellent helpers and carried everything into the main common room. On this visit, we brought bags of rice, boxes of ramen, varieties of beans, sesame seeds, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, cereal, milk, cooking oil, siracha, dried squid, pork chops, vegan meat pies, vegan fish, vegan pork, mushrooms, toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, hair ties, body wash, and shampoo.
Our team spent time with the children as everyone snacked on fruit. So fun!
This charity trip was made possible through the continued support from JL Support Services. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE ANH DAO ORPHANAGE
Founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, a large group of orphans are cared for at this wonderful home in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Visit the orphanage and you’ll find a well-organized and loving environment. The children are happy, and it’s a joy to sit, talk, and play with the little ones. To help provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son tends a small farm behind the orphanage, in front of the girl’s living quarters. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here, and the surplus can be sold to help pay for monthly expenses.
