On October 12, 2017 we brought lots of healthy food supplements to the Loc Tho Charity School and Orphanage, plus fun treats for the children. The nuns of the Loc Tho pagoda provide free primary schooling for neighborhood children whose parents cannot afford the costs of public school. Parents would normally have to buy school uniforms, textbooks, school supplies, and pay school maintenance fees. At Loc Tho, education is free for everyone. There are over 120 children at the school, and about 20 orphans and foster children in the care of the pagoda.
To ensure the children’s lunches are nutritious, we bring a monthly supply of healthy supplements. On this trip, we brought packages of soy products, milk, varieties of beans, lots of seasonings, and some surprise snacks for the children. The students took a break from their studies, filed into the common eating room, and had a yummy snack and drink.
These healthy visits are made possible through the continued dedication of Lloyd and Esther.
Thank you!!!
