We are thrilled to announce the completion of a transformative project at the Nhan Ai Orphanage!

To help cover the orphanage’s daily costs, the nuns manage a lush durian farm in the nearby countryside. However, keeping the farm thriving requires significant electricity for irrigation and operations. To create a more cost-effective and eco-friendly solution, the nuns proposed a switch to renewable energy.

We were inspired by their vision for a greener future and stepped in to sponsor the installation of solar panels on the farm’s main building. The nuns were overjoyed to see this dream become a reality!

Once the installation was complete, the older teens from the orphanage enjoyed a special field trip to the farm to see the results firsthand. The day was filled with laughter as the group explored the lush durian groves, capturing plenty of photos while learning how the sun is now providing clean energy for their crops. To cap off the celebration, everyone headed to a local noodle house for a delicious lunch together before making the trip back home.

This project is a perfect example of how sustainability meets heart. By reducing energy costs, we are helping the Nhan Ai Orphanage direct more resources toward the children’s care and education.

This would not have been possible without our incredible donors: Steven Burger, the Kinghurst Foundation, and Eamonn Gahan. Thank you for helping us empower this community—one ray of sunshine at a time!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home. Several times a year, the nuns at the Nhan Ai Orphanage also arrange to assist poor communities in their area.
