On May 26, 2019 we visited the Song Lo Orphanage with essential supplies and foodstuff plus lots of new books and toys for the children. Song Lo is a small orphanage to the south of Nha Trang, and provides a loving home for a wonderful group of young children. The oldest are teenagers in high school and the youngest is a newborn baby recently left at the orphanage.
We contacted the nuns to learn of the orphanage’s immediate needs and organized a charity trip. On this visit, we brought milk, bean varieties, baby formula, tofu products, fresh noodles, mushrooms, seasonings, laundry detergent, cleaning products, diapers, and toiletries. The children were very helpful carrying everything from the car to the orphanage common room, and the children sat down to see if we had brought them anything special. As a surprise treat for the children, we brought storybooks and lots of new toys. They had so much fun!
This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations of Elaine Nguyen, Dzung Nguyen, and Michael Phan.
