In mid-October 2019 we visited the Suoi Dau Charity Home with essentials supplies and some fun surprises for the children. We contacted the caretakers and made a list of what they were in need of at the moment. Our team then bought everything on the list at local markets, loaded up a car, and drove out to the Home.

The boys helped carry the supplies inside and stacked them in the common room. As a surprise treat, we presented some sweet breads and treats the children could enjoy as desert after lunch. On this visit, we brought boxes of noodles, bottles of cooking oil, bottles of hot sauce, seasonings, toothpaste and toothbrushes, dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoos, and cleaning products.

It was lunchtime and our team joined the boys in the kitchen and got to watch them prepare the Home’s meal. Everyone had a job to do and it was fun for us to see how the meals are prepared. The children set the tables and had lunch. It was a very fun visit!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations of Hanh Tong. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE SUOI DAU CHARITY HOME

The Suoi Dau Charity Home is located in Suoi Dau district near Suoi Cat, which are both poor communities to the west of Nha Trang composed of rural farming hamlets that live in poverty. The Suoi Dau Charity Home is a loving place that houses and cares for a group of the community’s young boys whose families struggle to support and provide for them. The boys stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The boys all come from the ethnic Raglay minority group. Overseen by pastor Dam Nguyen, the caretakers who run the home provide a nurturing environment and ensure the children attend local public schools and provide after-school tutoring lessons.
