In late January 2019 we visited the Thua Sai Home for Disabled Children for a Tet surprise. Located in a peaceful country setting in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang, Thua Sai offers a home and school for children with neurological disorders whose parents cannot afford the specialized care their children require. The nuns and caretakers teach the children in classrooms on the grounds, and it is a loving home to these wonderful children.
The lunar new year of Tet is the biggest holiday in Vietnam, and we wanted to do something special for the amazing children at Thua Sai. Tet traditions include eating dried fruit, treats, and the yummy sticky rice cake Banh Tet. For this visit, each child got their own gift basket with a Banh Tet, traditional sweets, and cooking oil to take home to their families. At the caretakers request, we also brought racks of eggs, bottles of cooking oil, and other Tet goodies.
This wonderful gift was made possible through the kindness of a family in the USA.
Thank you!!!
