In September 2021 we sponsored a Moon Festival party for the children at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. With COVID restrictions still in effect, the orphanage is not receiving regular visitors. This means fewer donations to support the orphanage. It was the time of the Full Moon Festival, which is traditionally a fun holiday for children. There are lion dances, paper lanterns, and lots of yummy food.

We wanted the children to celebrate this fun holiday, so arranged for lots of food to be brought to the orphanage. The children helped prepare everything in the kitchens, then everyone sat in the communal dining hall for a feast. Later that night, the children gathered around a bonfire in the courtyard, carried paper lanterns, and watched lion dances. It was so fun!

This special holiday treat was made possible through the kind donations from Philip Doughty, Linh Lam, KTD Services LLC, and Eamonn Gahan. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home.
