In September 2021 we brought lots of food and supplies to the Thien Tam Orphanage, plus arranged for a fun Moon Festival party for the children.

Much of Vietnam is still under a strict COVID lockdown, and Thien Tam has not had regular visits for some time. This means they have not gotten donations of food that they rely upon. We spoke with the caretakers and made a detailed list. Our team coordinated with local markets and had everything delivered to the orphanage. We brought bags of rice, boxes of instant noodles, packages of glass noodles, sardines, cooking oil, fish sauce, soy sauce, seasonings, milk, shampoos, dish soap, and laundry detergent.

It was also the time of the Moon Festival in Vietnam. Normally, there would be lion dances, lanterns, and lots of fun in the communities. Because of COVID, however, most orphanages have muted celebrations. We wanted the children at Thien Tam to enjoy the holidays, so we bought bags of traditional moon cakes, bird nest drinks, and other snacks for a Moon Festival party. So fun!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations of Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes. Thank you!!!
