In October 2025, we were thrilled to host a special Mid-Autumn Festival celebration for the children at the Ngoc Van Orphanage! This holiday is all about joy, which means traditional lion dances, lanterns, toys, and of course, lots of delicious sweets. We wanted to make sure the Ngoc Van children experienced the very best of it!

As part of our visit, we delivered our regular monthly allotment of supplies, which included staples like: vegan beef jerky, seasonings, varieties of milk, boxes of noodles, and bottles of fish sauce. We also brought general items like toiletries, laundry detergent, and kitchenware.

To celebrate the festival, each child received a traditional lantern and a soft, squishy stuffed animal—so cute!

We coordinated with the orphanage caretakers to arrange an incredible surprise: a performance by a professional lion dance troupe! The children were amazed as three colorful lions danced all around them, followed by a long, majestic dragon flying overhead. There were so many smiles and gasps of delight! We wrapped up the incredible day with fun games for all the little ones. It truly was an amazing day.

This very special holiday visit was made possible by the kindhearted donations from our generous sponsors: Vanessa Nguyen, Dao Giving Fund, Alysha Sims, Koshu Takatsuji, Kateryna Lo, Daniel Cole, Xi Yang Wong, and an anonymous donor. Thank you so much for your support! You brought the magic of the Mid-Autumn Festival to these wonderful children.

ABOUT THE NGOC VAN ORPHANAGE

Located in the northern part of Khanh Hoa province, the Ngoc Van Orphanage was founded in 2020 after a big storm hit central Vietnam. There were many deaths from the storm, and several orphans were brought to the Ngoc Van Pagoda to be cared for by the monks there. Since then, the orphanage has grown and now cares for about 20 small children.
