On September 13-14, 2016 we brought much-needed supplies and the Mid-Autumn Festival to the Lac Thien Orphanage and the Song Lo Orphanage. Lac Thien is a loving home located in Ninh Hoa district, to the north of Nha Trang, while Song Lo is to the west. When we contacted the nuns who run the orphanages, they said that they were running low on basic necessities, and we immediately made a detailed list of the items they needed. When we visited, we brought bags of rice, boxes of dried fish, boxes of noodles, cooking oil, soy sauce, soaps, and cleaning products.
One of the most popular holidays of the year for children is the Mid-Autumn Festival. Children get to carry their own paper lanterns around, and eat traditional snacks. We wanted to bring the orphans at Lac Thien and Song Lo the joys of the festival, so our team handed out lanterns to all of the orphans, and their own gift bag of snacks. This trip was made possible through the donations of JL Support Services.
