For the 2024 Lunar New Year, we contributed to a big charity effort to bring food to poor communities in Khanh Hoa province. Some of our volunteers are part of an informal charitable effort called Guiding Light, and this year they organized a large endeavor to bring general supplies to those most in need. The Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tet) is the biggest holiday of the year, and prices for everyday goods go through extreme inflation leading up to the holidays, putting a strain on poor families.
We were happy to donate to the effort, and on one day, the group delivered general food to poor families. This included bags of rice, cooking oil, seasonings, fish sauce, cookies, Tet sweets and snacks.
As a treat for the children, they also handed out frozen popsicles. It was a lovely day!
