In February 2024 we sponsored a big Lunar New Year party at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. We also contributed to the nun’s compassionate mission of caring for people at the nearby leprosy village.

The Lunar New Year (Tet) is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam, and the nuns at Nhan Ai make sure the children experience all of the traditions. There are decorations all over the orphanage, and during the first week of Tet, the children wear brand new clothes and receive red envelopes of lucky money. We were thrilled to contribute to the children’s joy to welcome the Year of the Dragon.

The nuns at Nhan Ai also support a small community of leprosy victims who live in a nearby sanctuary. We contributed to the nun’s annual mission of providing food and traditional Tet gifts for all the residents of the leprosy village. It was a wonderful day!

The celebration at the orphanage and visit to the leprosy village were sponsored by the following donors: Eamonn Gahan, Hanh Tong, Paul Baty, Shaun Minn, and an anonymous donor. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home.
