In January 2025 we brought the Lunar New Year to the Thien Tam Orphanage. We spoke with the orphanage caretakers ahead of time and arranged for some special surprises on our next visit. In addition to our monthly supply of food and general provisions, we also brought items to ring in the new year.
When we arrived, the children helped stack everything in the main courtyard. For general supplies, we brought bags of rice, boxes of ramen, sugar, garlic, shallots, seasonings, sausages, egg noodles, oyster sauce, chili sauce, pickles, milk, yogurt drinks, cooking oil, breadcrumbs, tapioca, rice paper, curry powder, varieties of meats, and fresh fish.
For the Tet holiday, we had lots of traditional treats and sweets, plus red envelopes for each child. The caretakers also got gift bags. Happy new year!

ABOUT THE THIEN TAM ORPHANAGE
Founded in 2004, the Thien Tam Orphanage lies 20 minutes south of Nha Trang’s city center, in Phuoc Dong ward. The orphanage is run by Nguyen Dinh Chi and his wife Nguyen Thi Kim Lien. A former orphan himself, Chi set up the orphanage in his home as a place of love and sanctuary for orphans in the community. They currently care for a small group of adolescents and one baby.
