On November 25, 2012 we discovered the Lac Thien Orphanage. Our team of volunteers are constantly on the lookout for new orphanages to assist. All of our information is gleaned from word of mouth, and simply exploring the region making enquiries. In mid-November, our Lead Coordinator, Ngoc, learned about the Lac Thien Orphanage west of Nha Trang. Together with our other volunteers Loan and Nhan, Ngoc brought basic foodstuff to the orphanage. It was the first time they had been there, and spent time with the Head Nun and the children under her care.
Donations came from friends and family in Nha Trang, as well as American Kathleen Tran of California.
The orphanage is adjacent the Phat Buu pagoda, and cares for over 30 youngsters. We hope to make many more visits to this loving home for children.
