December 2, 2011 we visited the Kim Son Charity School with donations. We drove the 30 minutes from Nha Trang by motorbike on a cool cloudy day, and arrived at Kim Son while the afternoon lessons were underway. The children came out to meet us, then gathered in the larger classroom. It’s always fun to visit these wonderful children, whose schooling is entirely provided for them by the nuns at Kim Son.
The school pays for the children’s books, uniforms, and the salaries of the teachers. As the children all come from poor families, they are also given free breakfast and lunch at the school. All of these costs can only be paid for through donations, and we were happy to contribute to the amazing work of the school’s caretakers.
Generous donations were made by Valerie Maples of Australia and Quang Ha Hong Ngoc of Nha Trang. We also gave some school supplies, which were donated by Adele of Malaysia. Accompanying us on our visit were Jeff and Khanh Boisson of France, and we all handed out snacks to the kids.
It was a wonderful day! Thank you to all of our donors who have made a difference in the lives of these children.
