On April 16, 2016 we visited the Thua Sai Home for Disabled Children with gifts from a kindhearted group of donors from around the world. Run by nuns, Thua Sai is a loving home and school for children with neurological and mental health issues. Thua Sai also cares for several deaf children, and is the home to several orphans. These children come from poor families who cannot afford the private care that their children require, and the nuns at Thua Sai welcome them with open arms. Most of the children come to the center Monday – Friday, where they receive schooling, care, and meals.
On this visit, we brought many essential supplies, including rice, noodles, dried fish, canned fish, sugar, seasonings, condensed milk, soy sauce, and soaps. As a special gift, we also gave Thua Sai a new bicycle, and one of Thua Sai’s orphans was eager to give it a test ride. As a treat for the children, we prepared sweet ‘che’ drinks for everyone.
This wonderful day was made possible through the donations of Dane Sawmiller, Mary Anne Ciasullo, Thao Dinh, Nhu Le, Daniel Cole, Suruchi Khemka, and Thu Quyen Nguyen. Thank you!!!
