In early October 2018 we brought lots of essential supplies to the Suoi Cat Charity Home & School. Suoi Cat is a poor community to the west of Nha Trang, composed of rural farming hamlets that live in poverty. The Suoi Cat Charity Home & School is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. The home is composed of young children and teenage girls, who stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The children attend public school and receive tutoring and extra lessons at the home.
We contacted the caretakers to learn of their most pressing needs. Our team brought kitchen supplies including bottles of cooking oil, bottles of soy sauce, bags of salt, and bags of sugar, cleaning supplies including buckets, toilet cleaner, laundry detergent, and dish soap, plus snacks and balloons. The girls gathered in the common room and had lots of fun.
This charity trip was possible through the kindhearted donations of Daniel Cole, Kari Pepar, Suruchi Khemka, Peter Pham, Thuy Vo, Dane Sawmiller, and Alexander Pham.
