Our December trip to the Suoi Cat Charity Home was about more than just delivering essentials—it was about sharing a moment of joy. After coordinating with the caretakers to identify their most urgent needs, our team spent the morning at local markets filling a van with everything on the list.

This month, we brought bags of rice, packages of noodles, rice cakes, sausages, soft drinks, sriracha, cooking oil, boxes of instant noodles, fish sauce, salt, eggs, milk, seasonings, cookies, ketchup, rice paper, mayonnaise, trash bags, paper towels, school supplies, floor soap, detergent, fabric softener, textbooks, badminton sets, shampoo, dish soap, toothpaste, and cleaning products.

Once the van was unloaded, we moved on to the highlight of the day. We brought along the ingredients for a special treat: handmade sweet drinks! The teens jumped in to help our team prepare the beverages, serving them to everyone in the home. The refreshing drinks and the collaborative spirit brought out big smiles all around.

None of this would be possible without the ongoing kindness of our donors: Steven Burger, Shaun Minn, Linh Lam, and Ava Do. Thank you for making these memories happen!

ABOUT THE SUOI CAT CHARITY HOME

Suoi Cat is a poor community to the west of Nha Trang, composed of rural farming hamlets that live in poverty. The Suoi Cat Charity Home is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. The home is composed of adolescent and teenage girls who stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The nuns and caretakers who run the home come from the nearby Suoi Dau Catholic Church and provide a nurturing environment for all. They ensure the children attend local public schools and provide after school tutoring lessons. The same caretakers previously supported young boys in the community who stayed at the Suoi Dau Charity Home. Some of the same boys receive tutoring at Suoi Cat during the day, then return home to their families in the evening.
