This August, our team returned to Thien An Charity Home to spend the day with the children and caretakers. To maximize our impact, we coordinated with the staff beforehand to create a targeted checklist of their most urgent daily necessities, hit the local markets, and loaded up a delivery van to the brim.
Delivering the Essentials
When we arrived, the playground was full of energy and laughter while our team unloaded the supplies. Thanks to our community’s ongoing generosity, this month’s delivery included:
- Pantry & Fresh Food: Bags of rice, eggs, milk, yogurt, sausages, instant pho, fish sauce, cooking oil, sugar, seasonings, and snacks.
- Household & Care: Kitchen supplies, shampoo, cleaning supplies, and mosquito spray.
- Special Treats: Frozen popsicles for all the children, who turned the empty supply boxes into impromptu toys while playing on the equipment.

ABOUT THE THIEN AN CHARITY HOME
This loving place is located in the hilly countryside of Khanh Hoa province. There are very few daycare facilities in this region and illiteracy among children is high. The local Thien An Catholic Church sought to help the children complete get a head start on their schooling, so started the Thien An Charity Home as a daycare and kindergarten for youngsters. The children are cared for during the day and receive free meals in a communal dining hall. There’s playground equipment and classrooms so the children can all receive the education they richly deserve.
