This December, our team returned to Ngoc Van Orphanage for a day filled with joy and productivity. After coordinating with the wonderful caretakers to identify their most urgent needs, our volunteers gathered a fresh supply of essentials from the local markets.

The highlight of the trip was the arrival; the children greeted us with huge smiles and jumped right in to help unload the van! Our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, added a touch of sweetness to the afternoon by preparing special drinks for everyone to enjoy.

This month’s essential supplies included:

  • Nutrition: Baby formula, eggs, bird’s nest drinks, sausages, canned fish, and bao buns.
  • Pantry Staples: Instant noodles and various seasonings.
  • Health & Hygiene: Diapers, medicine, and night lights.
  • Cleaning Supplies: Floor soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, and toilet cleaner.

Before we left, the children showed their incredible spirit by helping us organize everything into the pantry and kitchen. We are deeply grateful to our donors— Christopher Dang and an anonymous donor. Your generosity provided both the daily necessities and the special moments that made this visit so memorable.

ABOUT THE NGOC VAN ORPHANAGE

Located in the northern part of Khanh Hoa province, the Ngoc Van Orphanage was founded in 2020 after a big storm hit central Vietnam. There were many deaths from the storm, and several orphans were brought to the Ngoc Van Pagoda to be cared for by the monks there. Since then, the orphanage has grown and now cares for about 20 small children.
