In October 2024 we funded the renovation and furnishing of a new reading room at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. The nuns had told us that they wanted a nice room dedicated to studying. They envisioned a library with many books, tables and chairs for the children to read and do their homework, and desks for the computer lab. We were happy to help!
It took about a month for the contractors to renovate the room. The custom study desks looked amazing! When it was all finished, the nuns sent us pictures of the children reading and studying in the new room. Such lovely images!
This project was funded by Steven Burger, Eamonn Gahan, Littlechad Newfield, and several anonymous donors. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE
Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home. Several times a year, the nuns at the Nhan Ai Orphanage also arrange to assist poor communities in their area.
