In January 2023 we made a visit to the Anh Dao Orphanage with lots of food and essential supplies for the month. After speaking to the head nun our team complied a detailed list of supplies, then went to local markets and bought everything on the list. We loaded up a van and our team of volunteers drove north into Ninh Hoa to visit the orphanage.

The children helped carry everything into the main common room. On this visit, we brought bags of rice, sweet rice, mung beans, boxes of ramen, sausages, cheese, cooking oil, siracha, soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, vegan chicken, vegan pork, tofu sheets, tofu paste, floor soap, toiletries, and laundry detergent.

To celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, Tet, we handed out lots of traditional Tet sweets to the children and red envelopes of lucky money. A great start to the new year!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from Harry Tran, Hung Pham, Kunjan Patel, Tina Hoang, Bao Le, Fred Sims, Anh Nguyen, Fulco Rook, and Tuan Nguyen. Thank you!!!

Founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, a large group of orphans are cared for at this wonderful home in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Visit the orphanage and you’ll find a well-organized and loving environment. The children are happy, and it’s a joy to sit, talk, and play with the little ones. To help provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son tends a small farm behind the orphanage, in front of the girl’s living quarters. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here, and the surplus can be sold to help pay for monthly expenses.
