In January 2023 we celebrated the New Year with the children at the Thien Tam Orphanage. We coordinated with the orphanage caretakers about making a special new year visit. We had been made aware that some of the children’s mattresses had been damaged and needed to be replaced. When our team arrived at the orphanage, we brought out brand new mattresses for all the children. They were so happy! The children immediately unpacked the mattresses and set them up in their rooms.
There were also three recent birthdays, so to celebrate we brought birthday cakes and donuts for all the children to enjoy. Next, the children sat down for a big lunch that we provided.
The Lunar New Year is coming soon. To celebrate the Year of the Cat, we brought traditional Tet sweets and handed out red envelopes of lucky money to the children, the caretakers, and the orphanage cook. Happy New Year!

ABOUT THE THIEN TAM ORPHANAGE
Founded in 2004, the Thien Tam Orphanage lies 20 minutes south of Nha Trang’s city center, in Phuoc Dong ward. The orphanage is run by Nguyen Dinh Chi and his wife Nguyen Thi Kim Lien. A former orphan himself, Chi set up the orphanage in his home as a place of love and sanctuary for orphans in the community. They currently care for 12 young children.
