On March 16, 2019 we visited the Sunflower Orphanage with essential supplies. Sunflower is a loving home to mostly teenage orphans, plus 2 toddlers. Located in the heart of Nha Trang, the caretakers provide a loving and nurturing home to the children.
The orphanage is reliant on donations for survival, so we contacted the caretakers to learn their most pressing needs. They provided us with a detailed list, and our team bought everything at local markets. We brought many large bags of rice, bags of bean varieties, bottles of cooking oil, bottles of soy sauce, seasonings, new soup bowls, and diapers.
The children helped carry everything into the common room, and our volunteers handed out small snack bags. We then spent some time with the children and watched them play with their baby sisters. It was a lovely visit!
