In August 2024 our team had a great visit with the children at the Anh Dao Orphanage. It is one of the largest causes that we support, and every month we endeavor to bring lots of food and general supplies to support the orphanage’s compassionate mission. For August, we contacted the head nun and made a detailed list of items we should bring.

On the day of the visit, our team did all the shopping at local markets, loaded up a van, and made the drive north into Ninh Hoa to the orphanage. When we arrived, the children met our team in the driveway and helped carry everything into the common room. Such great helpers!

This month, we brought bags of rice, boxes of noodles, mung beans, black beans, peanuts, tofu, varieties of seafood and meats, racks of eggs, mushrooms, seasonings, sugar, cooking oil, fish sauce, yogurt, vegan pork, vegan crab, vegan meat pies, and vegan beef.

As a healthy treat for all the children, we prepared varieties of fresh fruit for everyone to share. It was a wonderful day!

This big visit was made possible through the kindhearted donations from Vien Lam and Kevin Spring, Emily Vaughan, Elaine Nguyen, David and Trini Nguyen, Nicole Londt, Long Pham, Bichlien Nguyen, and an anonymous donor. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE ANH DAO ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, a large group of orphans are cared for at this wonderful home in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Visit the orphanage and you’ll find a well-organized and loving environment. The children are happy, and it’s a joy to sit, talk, and play with the little ones. To help provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son tends a small farm behind the orphanage, in front of the girl’s living quarters. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here, and the surplus can be sold to help pay for monthly expenses.
