In November 2022 we had a fun visit with the children at the Anh Dao Orphanage. After speaking with the head nun, we arranged to have lots of food and general supplies brought to the orphanage. Our team of volunteers in Nha Trang did all the shopping, loaded up a van, and drove north into Ninh Hoa.

When our team arrived, the children met the van and helped carry everything inside. It was raining at the time, so we had a few people holding umbrellas to keep everyone dry. On this visit, we brought fresh fish, dried shrimp, bags of rice, packages of ramen, mushrooms, vegan pork, tofu sheets, yogurt, milk, pork, racks of eggs, fish sauce, seasonings, sugar, cooking oil, fresh vegetables, pepper, ginger, soap, and cleaning products.

As a treat for all the children, we handed out sticky rice buns for everyone to enjoy. It was a lovely visit!

This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations from JL Support Services. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE ANH DAO ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2004 by the Buddhist nun Thich Nu An Son, a large group of orphans are cared for at this wonderful home in Ninh Hoa, 62 kilometers north of Nha Trang. Visit the orphanage and you’ll find a well-organized and loving environment. The children are happy, and it’s a joy to sit, talk, and play with the little ones. To help provide nourishment to the children, and as a small means of earning funds, Sister An Son tends a small farm behind the orphanage, in front of the girl’s living quarters. The children eat the vegetables that are grown here, and the surplus can be sold to help pay for monthly expenses.
