In August 2021 we brought lots of food to the Phu Quang Orphanage. Vietnam is still under a strict COVID lockdown, so our causes are not allowed to have outside visitors. We are still dedicated to providing them aid, especially now that they do not have regular visitors to bring donations.

We spoke with the head nun at the Phu Quang Orphanage and made a detailed list of food and supplies they were in need of. Our team worked with local shops and had everything delivered to the orphanage. We brought bags of rice, boxes of ramen noodles, instant pooridge, Sarachi, cooking oil, tea, bean curd, instant pho, fresh vegetables, fruit juice, and dish soap.

The children helped carry everything into the main common room, then brought all the food to the kitchen. This charity visit was made possible through the kindhearted donations of Bichlien Nguyen, Elaine Nguyen, Andrew Perovich, Daniel Cole, Minh Nguyen, Janet Le, and an anonymous donation from AbbVie. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE

The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage has been a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang cares for about 15 children in a loving environment.
