On February 12, 2016 we give the children at the Song Lo Orphange a fun field trip to celebrate Tet, the Vietnamese new year. Song Lo is a poor orphanage in the countryside to the west of Nha Trang. It’s small compared to other orphanages that we assist, but the nuns of Song Lo provide a loving and nurturing home for the 9 children under their care. While Tet is the biggest holiday of the year in Vietnam, orphans rarely get the opportunity to celebrate. This year, we wanted to do something special for these amazing children.
Thanks to a donation made by Mr. Son Nguyen of the USA, we took the children out on a fun field trip. First, all of the orphans received the traditional Tet red envelopes of ‘lucky money’. Next, we brought everyone to a big shopping center, where the nuns were treated to some grocery shopping for the orphanage, and the children all got to have ice cream. The children were then taken to a local amusement park, where they played games and went on rides. Everyone had a wonderful time! Thank you for making this day special for the orphans!
