In June 2026, our volunteer team returned to the Ngoc Van Orphanage to deliver educational supplies and general provisions. Because we prioritize supporting long-term education, we ensure that the tuition and supply costs for the facilities we partner with are fully covered.

Preparing for the School Year

The caretakers at Ngoc Van requested assistance preparing for the upcoming fall school year by securing textbooks early for the younger children. Our team sourced these materials from local bookstores, purchasing complete textbook sets for students in grades 1 through 6.

Alongside the educational materials, we delivered our regular shipment of essential kitchen staples and care items. This month’s distribution included:

  • Educational Materials: Complete textbook sets for grades 1–6
  • Nutritional Supplies: Milk, baby formula, canned meat, seasonings, and breading packages
  • Hygiene & Care: Bulk shower gel
  • Children’s Treats: Popsicles and yogurt cups for an afternoon snack

Connecting with the Community

During the visit, our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, and the team spent time with the children playing foosball and pool in the common room. We also toured the children’s small computer lab, which they use for homework and recreation. It was an excellent opportunity to catch up with the staff and see how the children are progressing.

This visit and delivery were made possible through the continued support of our donors: Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes and the Dao Giving Fund. Thank you for making this work possible.

ABOUT THE NGOC VAN ORPHANAGE

Located in the northern part of Khanh Hoa province, the Ngoc Van Orphanage was founded in 2020 after a big storm hit central Vietnam. There were many deaths from the storm, and several orphans were brought to the Ngoc Van Pagoda to be cared for by the monks there. Since then, the orphanage has grown and now cares for about 20 small children.
