On August 23, 2018 we had a great visit to the Khanh Son Charity Home & School. Located in the mountainous area to the southwest of Nha Trang, the Khanh Son Charity Home & School is a loving place that houses and cares for many of the community’s children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Some of the children stay at the home year-round, sleep in dormitories, and have meals together in a communal dining hall. The nuns provide a nurturing environment for all, ensure the children attend local public schools, and offer free daycare, kindergarten, and after school tutoring lessons.

It’s the beginning of the school year in Vietnam, and parents in poor communities struggle with the many education costs. To attend public school, each child must buy school uniforms, textbooks, school supplies, new shoes, backpacks, and pay school fees. The nuns at Khanh Son are dedicated to giving the children an education, which we believe will help break the cycle of poverty. The nuns gave us a detailed list of what the children needed, and we were more than happy to help.

For this trip, we provided all the children everything they would need for the upcoming school year. The children helped bring all the textbooks and school supplies into the main common room, and had fun picking out their new backpacks. Everyone then tried on their new uniforms and shoes. It was a wonderful day celebrating the children’s education! This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations of Juli and Kyle.

Thank you!!!
