Each month brings unique needs to the Loc Tho Charity School kitchen. Ahead of our October delivery, we sat down with the school staff to audit their storehouse and build a grocery delivery targeted directly at their immediate kitchen requirements.
Our community came through once again to provide a comprehensive supply run:
- Staples & Grains: 50-kg bags of rice, noodles, vermicelli, sticky rice, and fried rice
- Proteins & Produce: Meats, milk, and varieties of mushrooms
- Cooking Essentials: Cooking oil, soy sauce, sugar, fresh seasonings, seasoning powders, and instant soups
- School Maintenance: Essential cleaning products
With the supplies unloaded, the courtyard transformed into a playground. The children stepped out of their classrooms to join our team for a popsicle break. The yard quickly filled with laughter as kids sat together on the concrete steps, shared cold treats, and played games in small groups.
We are deeply grateful to Amy Bowman and Shaun Minn for their generous sponsorship of this month’s visit.
ABOUT THE LOC THO CHARITY SCHOOL
The Loc Tho Charity School, established in 1991 by Sister Thich Nu Dieu Y, has a long-standing history of providing free education to underprivileged children. Sister Dieu Y dedicated her life to this cause, and after her passing in 2014, the compassionate nuns of the Loc Tho Pagoda have continued her incredible work.
