On July 18, 2017 we completed our month-long project of setting up the new preschool at the Nhan Ai Orphanage. Nhan Ai is an amazing home to over 120 orphans, set in the peaceful countryside of Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. All the school-aged children attend public school. There are many very young children who should be in preschool, but Nhan Ai only had basic facilities to accommodate them. There are also many young children in the orphanage’s neighborhood whose families cannot afford to send their little ones to a private preschool.
The nuns took on the ambitious goal of setting up a dedicated preschool classroom for the young orphans and neighborhood children, to act as a free daycare and to prepare them for when they begin primary school. They finished the classroom, but needed to fill it out with furniture, school supplies, shelving, and everything to make the school fun and inviting. We were happy to help!
We helped buy desks and chairs, decorated the room with fun murals, put in shelving, bought lots of school supplies, learning materials, and toys, and helped purchase a new indoor play area for the children. The children were eager to take their seats in their new school, and the indoor playground got lots of attention as soon as it was set up. So fun!
This large effort was made possible through donations from several kindhearted people: Betty Lam, Erin Turner, and Vivian Tran.
Thank you!!!
