Rising energy costs affect communities everywhere, and the Nhan Ai Orphanage is no exception. Facing increasingly heavy monthly electricity bills, the dedicated nuns at Nhan Ai came to us with a forward-thinking solution: harness the sun to create sustainable, clean energy for the children.

We loved their vision and were honored to sponsor the entire solar panel installation project!

Local contractors worked hard to install and secure large, high-capacity solar arrays across the roofs of the orphanage buildings, upgrading the electrical infrastructure and connecting the system directly to the power grid. Today, Nhan Ai Orphanage is proudly solar-powered!

To celebrate the completion of this milestone, the nuns and children gathered for a special festive lunch. The Sisters shared wonderful photos documenting the installation process and the joyous celebration that followed.

This green initiative and long-term cost savings were made possible entirely through the generosity of our amazing donors Steven Burger, Eamonn Gahan, and Carolyn Chau-Kha. Thank you for investing in a brighter, more sustainable future for Nhan Ai!

ABOUT THE NHAN AI ORPHANAGE

Founded in 1996 by Sister Nguyen Thi Bao Quyen, the Nhan Ai Orphanage resides behind the Giao Xu Phu Nhon Catholic Church in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang. The orphanage is run by the nuns of Nhan Ai and relies entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. Nhan Ai is the largest orphanage that we assist and houses approximately 130 orphans in a wonderfully tranquil home. Several times a year, the nuns at the Nhan Ai Orphanage also arrange to assist poor communities in their area.
